Our Story · Aurora Oriens

Where Heritage Meets Everyday Luxury

The world's most intricate craftsmanship shouldn't live only in museums. We bring it to you — to wear, to live with, to make part of your everyday.

Aurora Oriens partners directly with artisans across China — from the jade carvers of Nanyang to the cloisonné masters of Beijing — to adapt heritage techniques into pieces you can actually wear.

We don't mass-produce. We preserve the technique, update the silhouette, and make it accessible to the modern woman who moves through the world with intention.

"The most personal piece of jewelry is one that says exactly what you want it to say."

01 Gold filigree artisan — intricate wirework detail

Gold Filigree

金银错 · Tèzhì · 700 years of wirework

Thinner than a strand of silk

Gold wire drawn down to 0.08mm — thinner than a strand of silk. Artisans then twist, curl, and solder each filament by hand, following patterns that date back to the Ming Dynasty. A single pair of earrings takes four hours to complete. The result is jewelry that looks like lace made from sunlight.

A technique documented since the Tang Dynasty, now reimagined for everyday wear.

02 Cloisonne enamel craftsmanship — metal and glass detail

Cloisonné Enamel

烧蓝珐琅 · Fàláng · The art of painting with fire

Fired at over 800°C, twelve times

Cloisonné begins with a copper base. Fine metal wires are soldered to form the design outlines — the "cloisons" that give the technique its name. Colored glass powder is applied within each compartment and fired. The process is repeated up to twelve times until the enamel sits flush with the wire.

We use traditional Chinese color palettes: celadon greens, cinnabar reds, and the deep blues of Ming porcelain.

03 Jade micro-carving — polished nephrite jade pendant

Jade Micro-Carving

玉石微雕 · Yùdiāo · From the jade capital of China

Over 2,000 years of tradition

Nanyang, in Henan Province, has been the center of Chinese jade carving for over 2,000 years. Our jade pieces are sourced from verified deposits and hand-carved by artisans who trained for a minimum of eight years. The jade we use is nephrite — durable, warm to the touch, and believed in Chinese tradition to offer protection to its wearer.

In Chinese culture, jade is not just a gemstone — it's a relationship between the wearer and the stone, passed down through generations.
